God of the warThe action-adventure franchise has established itself as a staple of modern PlayStation and video games with an expansive series of titles across many generations of consoles. But even outside of its main franchise entries, God of the war‘s the prolific crossovers in other franchises are mainly due to the iconography of its titular protagonist.

Between the crosses of Kratos in Fortnite, Knight Shovel, and Mortal combat, there have been different perspectives of the stoic, domain-changing demigod that paint him in a unique light, although not necessarily canonical perspectives. Recently, a fan artist’s crossover merged the characters from the latest God of the war with the artistic style of a game whose bombastic visuals are uniquely identifiable.

L3mmie, otherwise known as Daniel Lehmacher, shared the rubber hose fan art of God of the warit’s Kratos and Atreus. L3mmie admits that Cup head was their “greatest source of inspiration” for the artwork, which is reflected prominently and wonderfully. Cup headThe visually striking artistic style of is complemented by its distinguished rubber hose animation style. The rubber hose animation is taken from cartoons from the 1920s and is uniquely depicted with figures that feature stiff limbs and appendages with no anatomical joints, as seen here with Kratos and Atreus.

Kratos and Atreus’ rubber hose style designs are admittedly adorable, and fans have shared their newfound desire to see the two franchises intersect. Reddit user El-Mitochondria suggests that Kratos appear as a Cup head boss, while LDG192 ponders the idea of God of the war being a “Disney IP in the 1930s”. The animation of the rubber hose is much less graphic or detailed than God of the warThe current graphic fidelity of, which also strips it of its more brutal and violent overtones to give Kratos and Atreus a sane, cartoonish aesthetic instead.

Epic mickey, Skull Girls, and Bendy and the Ink Machine are a few examples of other games that have used rubber pipe animation for a hypnotic effect. Cup head may not be the last game to implement this particular style, although due to its importance, it is likely that any subsequent game that tries will be forced to succumb to the inevitable Cup head comparisons However.

L3mmie says they plan to upload their rubber hose fan art to their website, where fans can already purchase detailed fine art prints of Ellie, Abby, Dina and Joel from The last of us 2, as well as a print for Cyberpunk2077the default male of V. Until then, fans can imagine which other characters in the God of the war the franchise would look like this art style.

God of the war is out now for PS4 and PS5, with a PC release slated for January 14, 2022. Cup head is available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
